OBJECTIVES:

Empower Youth to Lead and Advocate

  • Advocacy for youth inclusion in policy and decision-making on desertification, land degradation, and drought issues.
  • Strengthen partnerships with other local, regional, and international youth networks (to boost advocacy impact and leadership opportunities).

Raise Awareness and Amplify Youth Voices

  • Social media campaign to amplify awareness about the impact of land degradation, drought, and desertification, and the importance of sustainable land management practices.
  • Opportunity sharing for young Africans (showcasing pathways and amplifying youth voices across platforms).

Strengthen Youth Capacity

  • Conduct regional needs assessments to identify capacity-building gaps and priorities.
  • Capacity building through webinars and mentorship programs on sustainable land management, drought resilience, and land restoration.

Ensure Meaningful Youth Participation

  • Promoting regional collaboration and knowledge sharing through joint initiatives, ensuring youth voices are fully integrated into regional and international UNCCD processes.

WHO CAN JOIN?

Students, researchers, professionals in Africa, climate, farmers, restoration experts, entrepreneurs, sustainability innovators, Indigenous youth and knowledge holders – between 18 and 35 years of age.

Part of youth networks or just passionate about Africa restoration.
