COORDINATION TEAM / STEERING COMMITTEE
The UNCCD Youth Caucus is powered by a committed team of youth volunteers who lead its core activities and shape its strategic priorities.
While we do not yet receive direct funding, we actively mobilize resources through youth-led fundraising efforts and in-kind contributions. We collaborate with the UNCCD Secretariat and other partners to secure the logistical and institutional support needed to scale our impact.
As the demand for meaningful youth engagement grows, so does the need for sustained investment in youth-led structures. We are building that future one partnership at a time.

Global Focal Points (GFP)
GFP provide overall coordination and strategic guidance for specific constituencies, working groups, or thematic areas within the UYC. They represent member entities and carry out their roles through nominated individuals. GFP are directly elected by the UYC members and are accountable for ensuring that the mandate of their area is effectively implemented.

Regional Focal Points (RFP)
RFP are responsible for coordinating youth engagement and mobilization within their respective regions. They play kay role in ensuring regional representation across constituencies and thematic working groups. RFP may be either individual youth leaders or representatives of member entities, including CYI affiliates, provided they demonstrate strong and active links with regional youth networks.

Thematic Focal Points (TFP)
TFP support the coordination and advancement of specific issue areas whether broad or narrowly defined based on relevant policy frameworks or the priorities of a given constituency or working group. TFP may be individual youth leaders or representatives of member entities, including CYI, provided they have relevant expertise and active engagement in the thematic area.

Partnerships Lead
The Partnerships Lead plays a key role in identifying, cultivating, and managing strategic collaborations with institutions, civil society groups, and youth networks. They support the development of joint initiatives, resource mobilization efforts, and long-term alliances that strengthen the reach and impact of the UYC. The Partnerships Lead also ensures that all external engagements align with the Caucus’ values and strategic priorities.

Communications Lead
The Communications Lead is responsible for shaping and coordinating the external messaging, digital presence, and storytelling of the UYC. This includes managing social media, press outreach, content creation, and internal communications that keep the global youth network informed and engaged. The Communications Lead ensures that the voices and work of young people are amplified across platforms and spaces.

Impact Partners/Volunteers
Behind every bold idea and meaningful milestone at the UYC is a community of passionate partners and volunteers who make it all possible. Our Impact Partners work with GFPs, RFP, and TFP to amplify youth voices, co-design solutions, and turn policy into action. Through strategic collaborations, these partners help us drive change on land rights, drought resilience, and sustainable development around the world.
